Instructions | Choose one of the following methods according to your usual practice of cooking and the desired quantity. For best results, wash the uncooked rice under warm running water, until the water runs clear. Adjust the cooking time and water quantity to achieve the rice firmness you prefer. Open pot method: take 4 cups of water in a pan and bring to boil. Add 1 cup of riceand stir. Add salt, butter or oil, if desired. Boil it uncovered for 7-8 minutes, occasionally lifting with a fork. Drain out the excess water, keep for 15 minutes and then serve. Closed pot method: take 2 cups of water in a pan and bring to boil. Add 1 cup of rice and stir. Add salt, butter or oil, if desired. Cover the pan and simmer for sometime till water is completely absorbed. Fluff the rice, let it stand for 5 minutes and then serve. Microwave method: take 1 cup of rice in a deep microwave safe bowl. Add 2 cups of water. Add salt, butter or oil, if desired. Cover with a lid or microwave safe plastic wrap and cooked on high for 12-15 minutes. Fluff the rice, let it stand for 5 minutes and then serve. |
